Locks, names, and the sixth dock

Lighthouse is the crash island implied by store copy and by Who stole my beer, which names the lighthouse keeper. Forest is named in Dinnertime (“the lady in the forest”). Desert, Rocks, and Volcano are community labels for islands 3–5. Island 6 has no official proper name in the 1.0.11 note beyond the number and the moved roulette table.

Patch 1.0.4 nerfed Pufferfish and Whale and made the intended path to the final island easier to see. Patch 1.0.10 mentions Tuna and Albatross, which sit on Rocks in the community bait table, and slightly nerfed anglerfish health on the volcano stretch. Treat those notes as first-party combat changes on a community-named map, not as a new official atlas.

Each island hangs a lure tier. Free lure and Hot Dog cover Lighthouse and Forest. Beginner Lure is Forest. Standard Lure is Desert. Professional Lure is Rocks. Scientific Lure is Volcano. Island 6 has no regular catch column; the peg there is roulette. Boss baits are unique quest objects hung per island, not a second regular tier.

The library hero still on this page is exclusive to the island chain: a tiny sandy islet, one palm, a barrel, and a knife in a red stain. It is the crash dock, not a free-sail atlas. Use it as the departure photo, then hang Lighthouse through island 6 in order.

Lighthouse and Forest

Store copy drops you on a small island after a crash with no gear. Who stole my beer names the lighthouse keeper and the beer thief, which is why this board treats Lighthouse as dock 1. Hang the Crab Fishing Rod, Free lure or Hot Dog, then Empty Beer Can for Spider Crab. The keeper turn-in is the quest gate, not a hidden sail.

Forest is the first named NPC dock after the crash: Dinnertime asks you to catch dinner for the lady in the forest. Giant Piranha wants Modified Leech; The Old Pike wants Beginner Boss Lure. Regular Forest water mixes Free lure, Hot Dog, and Beginner Lure. Patch 1.0.5 is the lock that stops you from visiting Forest before those pegs are hung. Bean after that patch walks this dock instead of skipping it. Piranha still lists the Crab Fishing Rod on this island while Mackerel already wants the Fishing Rod, so swap rods when the table says so rather than assuming one stick covers the whole forest shore.

Desert, Rocks, Volcano, island 6

Desert is the community name for island 3. Pufferfish and Blue Shark sit here. Patch 1.0.4 nerfed Pufferfish and Whale and made the intended path to the final island easier to see, which is the first-party reason this stretch exists on a patch timeline even without an official desert label.

Rocks is island 4 in the same table. Tuna and Albatross appear in Patch 1.0.10 notes; the community bait list puts Professional Lure and Tuna-as-bait on this dock. Volcano is island 5, the community final island, with Scientific Lure, Goblin Shark, Bowhead Whale, and Mutated Bowhead Whale. Island 6 is the official number for the roulette table after 1.0.11. There is still no proper name and no regular catch column. Unlock order is 1 through 6; the boat does not become a free map after 1.0.5.

Boat upgrades change travel speed, not unlocks. Getting an upgrade is the first engine; I am speed is the best engine; I'm the bird now is a flying boat. None of those achievements open Desert, Rocks, or Volcano on their own. After 1.0.5 the intended order is still Lighthouse, Forest, Desert, Rocks, Volcano, then island 6 for roulette. If a public lobby sails you into a locked dock, that is the bug 1.0.5 closed — leave and host private.

Patch 1.0.4 made the volcano path easier to see after the Pufferfish and Whale nerfs. If you are staring at a wall of rock, you are probably off the intended line that note called out. Turn around and look for the clearer route rather than treating island 5 as a maze secret.
