How to Fish catch kill sell

How to Fish catch kill sell is the store loop, not a side activity. You fish, you finish the fight, you sell the body. Start with no gear. Quests and bosses unlock islands. Drip skins, trick shots, and fish gambling sit on top of that loop. There is no real-money wager; the store gambling line is in-game fish only. The cash-out is gated on the current patch: scoop the body before a vendor will take it. That is why a trophy left on the dock is not auto-cash and why unique boss baits belong in your hands, not on the counter. The official Steam gameplay trailer on the store page is the first-party loop film; the chapter pegs on the home and first-cast boards reuse the YouTube upload instead.

Three verbs

Steam achievement icon for Rich! Millionaire
Steam icon for Rich! Millionaire — sell something worth 100,000 or more.

Catch uses the rod the island allows. Crab Fishing Rod covers lighthouse water plus Forest Piranha. Fishing Rod covers Forest mackerel through Volcano stonefish and every boss after Spider Crab. Kill converts a hooked body into something you can cook, eat, or carry. Sell is the cash-out. Trick shots raise killscore; Impressive is a 5× multiplier, Noob is a kill with none, 360 no scope is its own achievement.

Ground items persist between sessions up to 64 after Patch 1.0.10, prioritizing weapons, tools, quest items, and creatures. Cooked weapons and tools uncook in water. Those persistence rules are part of the money loop: a dropped sale or a grilled gun is not gone after a quit, and a cooked tool can be cleaned instead of vendored as junk.

Rare variants are drip skins of regular species. Collector is every creature; Fishipedia is every drip. Patch 1.0.5 fixed an off-by-one Fishipedia unlock. Patch 1.0.11 cooked drip parrotfish correctly. Neither achievement is a separate fishing minigame; they are kill-list completions on the same loop.

The Steam gameplay trailer on the store page is the first-party loop film for this route. It is not the YouTube release-date upload. Watch it for the three verbs, then come back to the hold rule and the bait chain before you vendor a trophy.

Hold-once rule

The current sell window will not take a body that never entered your hands. Scoop the catch, then vendor. A fish dumped from the water onto a counter prompt stays unsold. That gate landed in the same 1 September note as Steam Deck Verified, GeForce NOW, save backups, and the drip parrotfish cook fix, so treat it as live, not as a leftover from launch week.

Keep island-boss trophies that later baits need. Tuna baits Albatross on Rocks. Fish Bucket baits Bowhead Whale on Volcano. Bowhead Whale baits Mutated Bowhead Whale on the same island. Selling the first big catch because it looks expensive is how the chain stalls. Rich! Millionaire wants a single 100,000 sale; it does not ask you to vendor the next boss bait to get there. If a co-op partner is standing on the counter, call the trophy before anyone mash-sells it.

The hold is per item, not per crew. Eight-player lobbies from 1.0.4 make this louder: one player can cash a Tuna that another player still needs for Albatross. Private invites from 1.0.5 are the practical fix. Easy difficulty from 1.0.9 only changes health and damage; it does not disable the sell gate or island locks. Ground persistence from 1.0.10 will keep a dropped body for a while, but the next bait still has to be in someone’s inventory when you sail.

Trick shots and trophies

Store copy calls out trick shots and gambling for more money. Impressive needs a 5× killscore multiplier. 360 no scope is a named stylish kill. Easy (the achievement, not the difficulty) is a boss kill inside 10 seconds. Competitive eating is eating a mini-boss. Yummy in my tummy is eating a burnt creature. Those are loop extras, not extra islands.

Gambling is fish-only. GOLD GOLD GOLD unlocks a legendary skin from the slot machine. All in is a green win at roulette. Patch 1.0.10 includes roulette fixes. Patch 1.0.11 moved the roulette table onto island 6. Difficulty from Patch 1.0.9 is a separate health and damage multiplier, not a casino wager. Use Easy if a trophy fight is eating the hold-and-sell clock.

Seagulls, grills, and dynamite sit on the same loop. Grillmaster starts the fire. Yummy in my tummy eats a burnt creature. Competitive eating eats a mini-boss. None of those replace the island bait table. They are extra ways to spend a body you already caught and killed.

Uncook a grilled gun in the water if 1.0.10 is in force. A cooked tool is not junk until you try the shoreline. That is part of the money loop: recover kit, then sell fish you actually held. The Steam store movie on this page is the gameplay trailer, separate from the one-minute YouTube date announcement.

Hold-once-before-sell and trophy keep

Scoop the catch before you vendor it. A creature dumped straight onto a counter does not count. Keep island-boss trophies that later baits need — Tuna baits Albatross, Fish Bucket baits Bowhead Whale, Bowhead Whale baits Mutated Bowhead Whale — instead of selling the first big catch automatically.
