How to Fish patch notes

How to Fish patch notes on this board are eight first-party Community Announcements from launch on 20 August 2026 through Patch 1.0.11 on 1 September 2026. Click a date to expand that note. Current facts on this wiki are 1.0.11. There is no public 1.0.7 announcement; numbering jumps 1.0.6 to 1.0.8. Historical lobby size, island locks, hold-once, and Deck/GFN live on this timeline rather than mixed into launch-week store copy as if they were the same.

Read 1.0.11 first

1 September 2026: Steam Deck Verified, GeForce NOW, aim and sprint toggles, hold to attack, nametag toggle, save corruption checks and backups, hold-once-before-sell, drip parrotfish cooking fix, and the roulette table move onto island 6. Own explosives kill you even with friendly fire off. Iron sight left the shop. That is the current board.

Work backwards only when a behaviour disagrees with the store blurb. 1.0.4 is eight-player lobbies and the Handyman fix. 1.0.5 is private invites and locked-island travel. 1.0.6 is Game Name save checks. 1.0.9 is Easy/Normal/Hard. 1.0.10 is uncook-in-water, 64 ground items, and the anglerfish nerf. Launch is the 38% week and the trailer.

20 August 2026 shipped the 38% launch week and the release-date trailer. 21 August 1.0.4 raised lobbies to eight, nerfed Pufferfish and Whale, cleared the final-island path, and fixed join blackscreen plus fullscreen grayscreen. 22 August 1.0.5 added invite-only rooms, invert look axis, session type changes, a 30 FPS floor, blocked travel to locked islands, a Fishipedia unlock-on-next-drip fix, and a griefer instant-end fix.

23 August 1.0.6 checks the save file before load so fake Game Name servers cannot boot, stops crash writes, and saves on Save / Main Menu / Quit plus a one-minute autosave. 24 August 1.0.8 restored PlayStation glyphs and tied fire sizzle to the FX slider; 1.0.9 the same day added Easy (25% less creature health, 50% less damage), Normal, and Hard (25% more health and damage). 27 August 1.0.10 opened a Discord fanart channel, uncooks weapons in water, keeps 64 ground items, and trims anglerfish. 1 September 1.0.11 is Deck, GeForce NOW, and the hold-once sell gate.

Click a date on the timeline to expand that Community Announcement. Older notes stay on the peg so lobby size, island locks, and Deck verification do not get flattened into the 20 August store blurb. There is still no 1.0.7 post between 1.0.6 and 1.0.8; read 1.0.11 last if a live session disagrees with an older sentence.
